Turning your hand to a Traineeship!

We’re always keeping our blog up to date with our latest company updates and helpful information for both businesses and people looking to get into work. Feel free to check out some of our other updates or get in touch if we can help in any way.

As A-level top grades soar to 44% in record-breaking year, and GCSE top grades continue to rise at 30%, we look back to the day we walked in nervously to collect our results! Reminiscing on the past is important because it enables us to see just how far we’ve come. But what if you’re still not sure you’re where you want to be?

If you find yourself in a place in your life where you’re still navigating career waters, trying to find what’s right for you but struggling to gain traction and feeling somewhat dissatisfied as a result, then we say HOLD UP! Try a traineeship!

What is a Traineeship?

Traineeships give young people aged between 19 – 24 years a great start to their career and allow them to gain the essential skills that employers are looking for before going on to an apprenticeship or employment.

Funded by the Government, traineeship programmes are the perfect blend of work experience and study, enabling you get a real insight into the workplace whilst also developing your employability skills, such as CV writing, interview preparation, improving your English, Maths and digital skills along with acquiring sector-based qualifications.

Traineeships are well balanced, fun and above all, they deliver!

Last year, 75% of learners moved on to work or further study within a year of completing their traineeship programme.

The benefits of traineeships can be felt by businesses too! Forming as the beginning of a company’s talent pipeline and recruitment journey, traineeships help to increase capacity and productivity, enabling employers to get to know and work with individuals prior to recruiting them as apprentices or full-time staff.

Employers who make new work placement opportunities available can receive an incentive payment of £1000 per learner for up to 10 learners. This means businesses will be helping to tackle youth unemployment and support economic recovery while developing their own talented workforce. It’s the ultimate win-win!
