From Unemployment to Opportunity
Before joining our Skills Bootcamp, David had been unemployed for six months. He discovered the course through a job advert on Indeed and decided to take a chance. That decision would turn out to be life-changing.
Learning New Skills, Even with Experience
Although David had worked in construction for many years, he found the bootcamp full of fresh learning opportunities. “I enjoyed a lot of aspects of the course, but mostly I enjoyed learning new skills. Even though I have worked in construction for a very long time, I learned a lot of new skills I previously had no knowledge of,” he said.
Highlights for David included working through awareness modules such as asbestos awareness and abrasive wheels, as well as hands-on workshop experience where he could apply practical skills in real scenarios.
Gaining Employment and Enhancing Life
Thanks to the unskilled course offered by RE:GEN Academy, David secured his dream job. The impact on his life has been significant: “It has enhanced my life by a great deal. I’m now in a job I love. Find a job you love and you will never work a day in your life.”
Since starting his new role six months ago, David has traveled across the country attending different sites, taking on varied tasks every day. He’s also earned IPAF and Rope Access Level 1 qualifications and now runs his own jobs—an incredible achievement in such a short time.
Advice for Future Learners
When asked what he would say to someone debating joining one of our courses, David was unequivocal: “There is no debate in it at all. I was very lucky to get the role I did, and none of it would have been possible without Regen. But if I didn’t gain employment on this occasion, the staff at RE:GEN would have been on hand to help me at every turn in gaining employment. I really can’t thank them enough.”
He added: “Overall, I’d highly recommend attending this course. It has opened so many doors for me and made a huge improvement in my life. I feel happier and more content than I ever have. The staff at RE:GEN are so helpful, kind, and dedicated.”
