Designed with one of our employer partners, this course will be delivered by ourselves at RE:GEN Academy to provide you with hands-on experience and on the job training so you can put your skills straight to the test. With an end result of gaining all relevant knowledge and training to be with the chance of progressing into a specialist role as a Trainee Multi-Skilled Operative.

 

This is a unique model that has been designed with our employers, to educate and attract vibrant talent into the sector and help you climb the career ladder. You will gain knowledge and qualifications specifically in Retrofit and Construction Green Skills which play a huge part in the role.

Daily responsibilities:

In this role as a Multi Skilled Operative, you will work across different phases of a regeneration and retrofit project. Building your skills and gaining knowledge in the many areas. You will begin your journey in Loft insulation before progressing into cavity wall insulation and will gain NVQ qualification in both specialisms.

Duties include:
Loft Insulation – Loft clearances which entails the removal of belongings and/or existing loft insulation as a one-off activity or prior to installing insulation.

Installation and or topping up of existing rolled loft insulation within domestic properties. A respectful attitude required due to working on the internal of tenants’ houses.

Cavity Installation – Refilling the cavities in blank or extracted walls with a superior material which offers greater heat retention within the property, saving tenants on energy bills.

Cavity Extraction – Removal of existing failed or outdated cavity wall insulation using a system of high-pressured air jets and high-powered specialist extraction machinery. Working off scaffold and using a variety of power tools.

Requirements:

• Able to work within a team and be able to work alone
• Good communication skills
• Able to adapt and deal with changing priorities related to their own workload and the company
• Be pro-active and have a positive attitude
• Be able to work in a confidential manner
• Must be able to get to the Depot in Shotton Colliery every morning.
• Must be clean shaven due to Respiratory Protective Equipment worn.

Salary:

• £11.44Ph to start with incremental increases as you progress with your training (£11.44 – £13 – £17PH)
