Location: Doxford Park, Sunderland

Contract: Permanent, full time. Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm.

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000, depending on experience.

Your Responsibilities

As an NVQ Assessor at RE:geon, you will support learners in gaining their Construction NVQ’s, with a real focus on insulation and building treatments such as external and internal wall insulation and room in roof.

The main responsibilities include managing, supporting, and assessing experienced candidates whilst they are working towards their NVQ qualifications through a fast-track option, delivery and assessing will take place both at our Skills Centre and on site with their employer. You will also play a role in designing, developing and introducing the trades to new entrants looking to gain employment or apprenticeship opportunities with our clients.

To excel in this role, it would be preferential for you to have some form of trade experience in:

  • Heating and ventilation
  • Heat pump or solar panel installation
  • Engineering
  • Plumbing
  • Bricklaying
  • Plastering
  • Carpentry
  • Drylining
  • Quantity surveying,
  • or other sustainability or construction-related skills that will be transferable to the role.

The role is an incredibly rewarding one, but attention to detail is a must. That’s because the majority of the delivery will be supported through the use of Government funding which means you need to ensure an accurate record of data entry onto all systems as required by the department and management to enable accurate and full reporting.

  • To deliver both accredited and non-accredited courses to standard.
  • Maintain a high-quality professional service, ensuring all work promotes the Group brand, aims and objectives.
  • To fully understand and meet compliance requirements in accordance with each contract’s requirements.
  • To contribute to course development, design and implementation to produce high quality learning materials.
  • Positive communication with RE:geon’s team learners and business needs are met
  • To always set an excellent example of customer care to all.
  • To consistently keep up to date with industry standards and upskill where necessary through additional training / CPD opportunities.
  • Attend and participate in regular standardisation meetings.
  • Meet and review monthly KPIs relating to the delivery department.
  • To take an active role in managing risk, health and safety and safeguarding issues.

Essential Skills

  • Hold both a teaching and an assessor’s qualification.
  • A real passion for high quality education and learning effectiveness.
  • A good understanding & previous experience of teaching or working in the retrofit and renewable sector. e.g. PV solar Panel, EWI, IWI Cold roof.
  • Knowledge and understanding of curriculum delivery requirements that can be supported by face-to-face, blended and distance learning.
  • A good understanding & previous experience of teaching or working in the construction industry.
  • Excellent digital competency skills, written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Relevant Level 2 or 3 Trade NVQ’s e.g. Level 2 NVQ in External Wall Insulation
  • Experience: You must have Construction Industry experience, ideally with experience in Construction Site Supervision / Management.
