Designed with our employer partner, this course will be delivered by ourselves at RE:GEN Academy to provide you with hands-on experience and on the job training so you can put your skills straight to the test. With an end result of
gaining all relevant knowledge and training to be with the chance of progressing into a role.

This is a unique model that has been designed with our employers, to educate and attract vibrant talent into the sector. You will gain knowledge and qualifications in the construction and build environment. You will also be working towards gaining other certifications that are mandatory for the construction sector.

Additionally, if required, you will have the opportunity to work towards gaining your driving licence with 20 hours of FREE Driving Lessons as part of the programme.

Daily responsibilities:

This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and develop valuable skills within the sector. In this role, you’ll undergo comprehensive on the job training to learn the skills required to become a proficient Apprentice Painter and Decorator. The role will involve:

• Assisting in the preparation of surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes and cracks to ensure a smooth base for painting.
• Learn to apply various types of paints, stains, and finishes using a range of brushes and rollers.
• Assist in the preparation of paint colours to ensure accurate colour matching for touch ups and finishes.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets the quality standard required.
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining the painting equipment.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations. 

Requirements:

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Good Communication skills.
• Able to work with others.
• Physical stamina to lift and stand for extended periods of time.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Have a safety-conscious attitude.
• Hold a full UK Driving licence or, a provisional driving licence and be able
  to commute to Ashington and Alnwick.
• Possess a GCSE or Functional skills A–C / 4-9 in English and Maths.

Salary:

• NMW for apprentices (year 1) – £6.50ph
