Are you looking to explore a career within the Construction Sector? Then look no further. We’ve got just the opportunity for you as an Apprentice Plumbing and Heating Engineer.
Designed with our employer partner, this course will be delivered by ourselves at RE:GEN Academy to provide you with hands-on experience and on the job training so you can put your skills straight to the test. With an end resultof gaining all relevant knowledge and training to be with the chance of progressing into a role at Hewitts.
This is a unique model that has been designed with our employers, to educate and attract vibrant talent into the sector. You will gain knowledge and qualifications in the construction and build environment. You will also be working towards gaining other certifications that are mandatory for the construction sector.
Daily responsibilities:
In this role, you will undergo comprehensive training to develop the necessary skills and
knowledge required to become a proficient Plumber. You will complete your Level 3
Plumbing and domestic heating technician apprenticeship alongside your employment.
Working under supervision as your skill base increases you will undertake the following:
- Assisting in the installation of plumbing systems in residential properties, including piping, fixtures, and appliances.
- Help troubleshoot plumbing issues and make necessary repairs.
- Develop skills in identifying and troubleshooting plumbing issues and participate in repairs and maintenance tasks as directed.
- Learn to read blueprints and follow instructions to complete tasks.
- Perform basic math calculations to measure and cut pipes accurately.
- Assemble and install pipes, fittings, and fixtures.
Requirements:
- GCSEs in English and maths grade 4 – 9 or A to C.
- The ability and desire to learn and develop a thorough knowledge of the skills, technology and safety procedures required to carry out the full range of tasks
- Be able to establish and maintain good customer/client relationship
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- You must be 19+ due to Health & Safety Requirements.
- Possess a valid UK drivers’ licence OR be able to commute to head office in Doxford Park (SR3 3BE) or to site each day, depending on workload. Majority of work in Durham, South of Tyne and Sunderland.
Salary:
NMW for Apprentices – £7.55PH from the 1st April
