Job Description

Are you looking to explore a career within the Construction Sector? Then look no further. We’ve got just the opportunity for you as a Scaffolder Labourer.

Designed with our employer partner JMAC Group (Scaffolding), this course will be delivered by ourselves at RE:GEN Academy to provide you with hands-on experience and on the job training so you can put your skills straight to the test. With an end result of gaining all relevant knowledge and training to be with the chance of progressing into a role with our employer partner.

This is a unique model that has been designed with our employers, to educate and attract vibrant talent into the sector. You will gain knowledge and qualifications in the construction and build environment. You will also be working towards gaining other certifications that are mandatory for the construction sector.

Daily responsibilities:

As a Scaffolder Labourer, you will undergo comprehensive training and hands-on experience to develop the skills necessary for a successful career in scaffolding with the opportunity to progress through your qualifications to become a scaffolder. Under the guidance of experienced scaffolders, the role will involve:

  • Learn and apply industry-specific safety standards and regulations.
  • Assist in the assembly and disassembly of scaffolding structures according to project requirements.
  • Carry out basic calculations and measurements to ensure accurate placement and stability of scaffolds.
  • Collaborate with experienced scaffolders to understand project specifications and timelines.
  • Handle and maintain scaffolding equipment and tools, reporting any issues promptly.
  • Follow instructions and guidelines provided by supervisors to ensure work is completed to high standards.
  • Participate in regular training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in scaffolding techniques.
  • Uphold a strong commitment to safety, both for yourself and your team members.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A good level of Maths as you will do a lot of measurements and will be required to have
    A-C in GSCE or L2 Functional Skills when completing your Scaffolding part 1 and 2.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy loads.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Basic understanding of construction principles is an advantage.

Salary & Benefits:

  • £13 per hour (£12.44ph + 56p bonus)

It is important to remember when applying for this role that being a Scaffolder can be physically demanding. The ideal candidate must be positive and respectful as this can be a customer-facing role.
