Job Description

Are you looking to explore a career within the Construction Sector with a particular focus on Green Skills? Then look no further. We’ve got just the opportunity for you as a Wall Tie Operative.

Designed with one of our employer partners, this course will be delivered by ourselves at RE:GEN Academy to provide you with hands-on experience and on the job training so you can put your skills straight to the test. With an end result of gaining all relevant knowledge and training to be with the chance of progressing into a specialist role as a Wall Tie Operative.

 

This is a unique model that has been designed with our employers, to educate and attract young vibrant talent into the sector and help you climb the career ladder. You will gain knowledge and qualifications specifically in Retrofit and Construction Green Skills which play a huge part in the role.

Daily responsibilities:

If successful, you will progress into an Wall Tie Operative position where you will be supervised to cover all aspects of the role. As your skill base increases you will undertake the following:

  • Conducting thorough inspections of existing wall ties to identify potential issues, failure, or deterioration.
  • Establishing different types or bricks or blocks used in the properties and whether or not wall ties are present.
  • Executing the proper installation of wall ties according to project specifications and industry standards.
  • Ensuring that all installed wall ties meet quality standards and comply with building codes and regulations.
  • Developing knowledge around different types of wall ties and their purpose.
  • Work with various materials, such as steel or composite wall ties, to secure and strengthen the connection between inner and outer walls.
  • Using the correct tools to identify the positions of existing cavity wall ties.
  • Measuring and planning the placement of new wall ties against and present wall ties.
  • Adhering to all health and safety regulations of the site you are working on.
  • Working around people in their homes.

Requirements:

  • Due to health and Safety Regulations, you must be 19+ to apply for this position.
