Job Description

Are you looking to explore a career within the Construction Sector with a particular focus on Green Skills? Then look no further. We’ve got just the opportunity for you as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor.

Designed with one of our employer partners, this course will be delivered by ourselves at RE:GEN Academy to provide you with hands-on experience and on the job training so you can put your skills straight to the test. With an end result of gaining all relevant knowledge and training to be with the chance of progressing into a specialist role as a Quantity Surveyor.

 

This is a unique model that has been designed with our employers, to educate and attract young vibrant talent into the sector and help you climb the career ladder. You will gain knowledge and qualifications specifically in Retrofit and Construction Green Skills which play a huge part in the role.

Duties include:

A quantity surveyor’s role is to provide commercial expertise and be responsible for the financial delivery of a project to ensure that it is procured and delivered within budget and to the highest quality

From early design costs to final figures, quantity surveyors seek to minimise the costs of the project and enhance value for money whilst ensuring that the project meets all legal and quality assurance requirements and regulations.

The role of a trainee quantity surveyor involves the following duties::

  • Assist with day to day cost control, monitoring and reporting across all RE:GEN live jobs.

  • Measure progress, submit valuations, run final accounts through to retention release and monitor receipt of payment in accordance with the contract.
  • Liaise with the buyer on material procurement and effective buying opportunities.

  • Take the lead on subcontractor procurement and commercial management.

  • Build strong relationships internally & externally.
