Part of RE:GEN Group, a forward thinking, regeneration specialist; a Main Contractor delivering refurbishment, retrofit and new build solutions to social housing across the Northeast.
We serve the skills needs of RE:GEN Group, the Group’s social housing client base and the Group’s wider supply chain by providing upskilling, reskilling and new skills within the construction industry. We collaborate with employers to:
- Upskill existing employees.
- Provide opportunities for new people to come into the industry.
- Develop and provide a solution to the skills shortage.
We take an employer-led approach to the design and delivery of our skills programmes. This means that every employer we work with has the ability to make the programmes as personalised to their business as they need. We take a place-based approach though our engagement with learners, progressing learners through an employment journey, with a real focus on achieving a positive employment outcome for the individual.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Employability Tutor to join the RE:GEN Academy team. This role is ideal for someone with experience delivering employability skills who is keen to develop their knowledge in green skills and the construction sector.
Alongside teaching employability programmes, you’ll have the opportunity to upskill and deliver a range of green skills training.
You’ll be working closely with our qualified construction trainers to prepare learners for careers in construction, helping them build confidence, skills, and industry knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and high-quality employability training to young people and adults preparing for construction roles.
- Plan and deliver both accredited and non-accredited learning programmes.
- Induct new learners, set expectations, and monitor attendance, progress, and behaviour.
- Support learners in developing personal, social, and workplace skills to improve their job prospects.
- Work with construction trainers and industry experts to provide sector-specific learning.
- Maintain accurate learner records to meet Government funding requirements.
- Contribute to the design and improvement of training materials and courses.
- Keep up to date with construction and green skills developments through CPD.
- Ensure health, safety, safeguarding, and compliance requirements are met at all times.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, AET, Cert Ed, or equivalent).
- Assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA, CAVA, or equivalent).
- Experience delivering employability or vocational training programmes.
- Strong organisational, communication, and digital skills.
- Knowledge of strategies to improve learner attendance, engagement, and achievement.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Level 2 Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) qualification.
- Understanding of the construction sector, particularly domestic retrofit.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:00, open to full time and part time applications.

Location: Northeast, Based in Sunderland Skills Centre.
Contract: Permanent, Full time. Part time Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:00
Salary: £28,000 – £35,000, depending on experience.
